Stephen Garrett

As Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine’s Interim Chair of Biomedical Science, Dr. Garrett collaborates with the Clinical Science and Health Systems Science Departments to lead faculty members in developing and implementing our medical school curriculum, which incorporates concepts and skills from each of these three major disciplines. His commitment to education has been recognized by numerous awards, including recognition by the Senate and State Assembly of New Jersey and membership in the Master Educators Guild of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, while his previous research was published in prestigious journals and supported by NIH and an ACS Young Investigator Award.
