Mark Schuster, MD, PhD, is Founding Dean and CEO Emeritus and Professor of Health Systems Science at the new Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine. Previously, he served as the Berenberg Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Chief of General Pediatrics and Vice Chair for Health Policy at Boston Children's Hospital, and prior to that as Director of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at RAND and Professor of Pediatrics and Health Services at the UCLA Schools of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Schuster is recognized as a leader in research on child, adolescent, and family health. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, where he serves on the Council, and is a former president of the Academic Pediatric Association.
